We've been gone for a minute, but big improvements are on their way to TheRootsLive in the near future.
In the meantime, we're back to provide you the goods to keep you warm and fuzzy on those cold winter nights.
First, our featured show is from one of The Roots’ favorite spots, the
9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. Recorded on December 29, 2005, the crew
delivered a fantastic set of classics with some assistance from not only Dice Raw and go-go legends
Rare Essence, but also a horns section that makes songs like “Duck Down!” really stand out.
Next up we have another special show, from the historic
Red Rocks Amphitheater in
Morrison, Colorado. Since Captain Kirk was on hiatus to spend time with his newborn child, Vernon Reid,
of Living Colour fame, stepped in on guitar to assist The Roots in a fiery set. In addition, we
will be offering certain shows in lossless FLAC format from now on over on
Etree. This Red Rocks show is the first of many
we will be sharing in lossless audio, as well as mp3.
We continue to deliver the best in Roots concert video, and this month we have our first installment of
The Legendary’s
AOL Broadband Concert in Los Angeles
from May 11, 2004. The first twenty minutes are available now, and every future update will include more
video of the show until the entire show is available for download.
We’re sorry for how long recent updates have taken, but there is a pretty good reason.
The staff of TheRootsLive have been hard at work on a new database and design for the site that will greatly
enhance both the appearance and usability.
So stay tuned for the for future updates, where you’ll have more of the great audio and video
you’ve come to expect from us, the return of the Live With The Legendary feature, and eventually,
the rebirth of the site with a brand new design and layout.
